Big Elm Brewing
Big Elm Brewing is one of the Berkshires brew spot out there. Owned by Bill and Christine of the also delicious Victory Brewing Company, Big Elm has been specializing in ales and lagers since 2012. Named after the "big elm" at the end of Route 7 that stood in this spot for almost 400 years and was the location of town hall meetings back in the day. Beers range from 413 Farmhouse Ale, a golden ale with barley, wheat, chamomile, orange zest and more to the Gerry Dog Stout, a dark oatmeal stout. The Tap Room is open Saturdays and Sundays from 12-4, where guests can enjoy free tastes and tours. There is something for all kinds of beer lovers here at Big Elm Brewing.
Located near Sheffield, in Great Barrington, Barrington Brewery & Restaurant is another great hotspot for beer drinkers. Barrington is a unique brewery that has been in the area for 20 years and is the first east coast brewery to install solar panels that supply solar-heated water for brewing and restaurant use. Barrington is also sustainable when it comes to their ingredients, only using local produce from the surrounding farms for their beers and all their meat is grass fed and free range. Beers include a delicious Black Bear Stout, A light European Vienna, and a hoppy Hopland Pale Ale and more. Enjoy seasonal favorites as well.
Glass Bottom Brewery
Glass Bottom Brewery is located in Lee, MA and is the perfect place for deliciously local beers. Glass Bottom was started by two high school friends in 2012 and has since grown to be one of the best breweries in the area. Their beers include Dark Sails Stout, a delicious dry stout, to TeaSB, an extra bitter choice, and Parsnipitty, a Belgian tripel. All of their beers are fresh and delicious, try them for yourself on Saturdays 1-6 PM in their taproom.
Chatham Brewing
Located actually in Chatham, NY, Chatham Brewing is worth the drive. The beer selection covers a wide range of tastes and flavors with unique brews including Czecher'd Past, to a Black IPA and a MapleAmber. All the flavors are rich and developed and live up to its premium rating. Visit the tasting room to try all the best brews and sample food from delicious food trucks from around the area.
